Frequently Asked Questions About Colorado Springs General Contractor
Can I get a free estimate?
Yes! We provide free estimates. Our professional estimator meets with you to discuss your goals and needs, then takes measurements to create drawings of the project area (if necessary). He can provide you with ideas and expertise, as well as a free quote.
How long does it take to get my quote?
Depending on the size of your project, the initial consultation for home remodeling, home improvement, or home renovations may take from 30 minutes to 2 hours.
After our estimator has completed the consultation, expect to receive your estimate within 7 days. We are not able to guarantee faster turnaround times unless an emergency agreement was in place prior to the consultation.
If your project is related to a homeowners insurance claim, this process may take longer because our insurance expert will need to communicate with your insurance company.
How much does it cost to fix water damage?
The cost to repair water damage in your home depends on many variables, so there is no standard price.
Factors to consider in the cost of water damage restoration:
Size: how many rooms were impacted by the loss, how large are they
Structure: is there damage to the foundation, framing, floor joists, etc.
Cause of loss: a simple water leak will cost less to repair than a Category 3 water loss, which is considered grossly contaminated and requires additional treatment
Contents: how much personal property was affected by the loss, does it need to be moved carefully or disposed of

How much does it cost for a basement remodel?
If you're planning to remodel your basement in the Colorado Springs or Monument area, here are the factors to consider as you budget for a basement finish:
Will you need to add or move plumbing, HVAC, electrical systems?
Will you need to add appropriate windows and doors to meet building code?
What does your timeline look like? A basement finish can be a lengthy project, depending on what you want to have done. Plan at least a few months, possibly longer.
Will I need a permit for my remodel or home improvement project?
If you are a homeowner who plans to DIY your home improvement project or small repairs rather than hiring a professional, you do not need to pull a permit. However, if you make any changes to the floor plan of your home (even minor ones!), you will need to submit a new floor plan to the regional building department.
If your project includes moving any plumbing, electrical, or mechanical systems, or making structural changes, you will need a licensed professional to pull a permit. Any changes that are cosmetic and non-structural (tile, drywall, paint, etc.) do not require a license or a permit
Can Comfort Restorations still do the reconstruction if another contractor did my emergency clean-up/mitigation?
Absolutely! You can bring us in at any stage of your project, or even hire us for a home improvement project or remodel. We're happy to do whatever project you need done.

It is often more cost-effective to have one company do the complete project, but many restoration companies in the Monument and Colorado Springs area don't offer reconstruction services. If you bring in Team Comfort to finish the job, we will do our very best to make sure your home is restored to an even better condition than before the damage occurred.
My insurance company recommended a contractor but I would like to get a second opinion. Can you do that?
We sure can! It's so smart to get a second opinion on such an important project. In fact, many restoration contractors that are recommended by insurance are committed to the insurance company, not to you. That means they may overlook important details that impact your family's long-term health, if those items are costly. As an independent company we are dedicated to our customers' needs, not to a preexisting agreement.

You are never locked in to hiring the contractor your insurance agent refers you to. In fact, we recommend doing your own research to find a contractor you trust. After all, they will be working in your home and you need to feel comfortable with them!
